Warranty Information
Mandatory Hungarian jótállás applies only to durables on the statutory list. A vehicle lift or tyre changer is outside that list — conformity is a separate right.
Only listed durables (drill, grinder, battery charger, meter, lamp, pump…). 2 years up to 250,000 HUF, 3 years above.
Vehicle lift, tyre changer, workshop compressor, sandblaster, press, shop crane, manual hand tools: no 151/2003 mandatory jótállás.
If the product page or the card promises extra months, that is contractual — not 151/2003.
Ptk.: 2 years for a private consumer. The 2026 SME rule is about jótállás, not automatic 2-year conformity for companies.
Annex first, then the buyer. Webshop SME = consumer for jótállás on listed goods only. The product page and the warranty card show which regime applies.
Consumer Warranty (Private Customers)
Conformity Warranty
Conformity (Ptk.) is separate from mandatory jótállás. Private consumers get 2 years. Industrial workshop machines are usually not on the 10/2024 IM list — 151/2003 does not give them 2–3 years by itself.
Mandatory Warranty (Jótállás)
Under 151/2003 § 2, listed durables get 2 years from 10,000 HUF and 3 years above 250,000 HUF. This is not a bonus gift.
| Purchase Price (gross) | Warranty Period |
|---|---|
| Under €25 | EU conformity only |
| €25 – €640 | 24 months warranty |
| Over €640 | 36 months warranty |
Price thresholds are based on gross (VAT-inclusive) purchase price per unit.
Repair Rights
Business Warranty (Company Purchases)
From 1 March 2026 a webshop SME is a consumer for Hungarian jótállás — but only on goods listed in 10/2024 IM. A car lift does not become a 2–3 year statutory machine. 12 months is the B2B portal.
